I am offering online and in person child therapy at this time. I provide a safe environment to help your child access their natural capacity to heal.
My approach is different than most other therapies and many clients come after they have tried traditional play or family therapy and have not received the results they had hoped for.
Transforming Touch, Somatic Experiencing and Play Therapy are the main methods that I incorporate for my child clients. It works best if I also work with one parent as part of the treatment. Your child's nervous system is directly affected by your own nervous system. The better regulated you are the better regulated your child will be.
The methods I use are:
Child Centered Play Therapy
Many of the kids I work with have trauma symptoms, loss, anxiety, attachment issues, problematic behaviors, socializing issues, being bullied, and school performance difficulties.
They may also struggle with aggression, hypervigilance, attention issues, ADD, Autism, poor impulse control, divorce in the family, and adoption.
Training & Background
I have a B.A. degree in Child Development from Cal State Northridge and an M.A. in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy, with an emphasis on family systems, from the California Family Studies Center. I have the most advanced training in trauma as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, NeuroAffective® and Transforming Touch® Practitioner.
For the parents of my child clients I also offer support, parent coaching and education as to how to better help your child navigate what might be difficult for them.
